In 1995, if that same skinny construction worker told you he'd turn those seven minutes into a full-blown show, and in so doing invent an entirely new genre of entertainment -- the professional Irish dance show, a concept which hitherto had only existed in his head -- you would have laughed. In 1996, if that same skinny construction worker told you he'd come back with a way bigger show -- Lord of the Dance -- after getting let go from his first show, paid for entirely with his own money, you would have laughed. In 1997, if that same skinny construction worker told you his new show would become the biggest-selling dance show on the planet, outselling massive touring rock acts like the Rolling Stones, and performing at the Oscars, you would have laughed. In 1998, if that same skinny construction worker told you that he'd have four troupes of the show up and running, set records for sold-out arena runs (such as the 21-night run at Wembley, which still stands today), and create an even bigger version of the show that would go on to sell out stadiums with over 100,000 people, you would have laughed.
