When teams consisting of a show jumper, an eventer, and a four-in-hand driver race each other through the Soers, it's time for the CHIO Cup at the CHIO Aachen! The concept is simple once you've seen it: All three team members arrive together at the Soers. The eventer starts by jumping a course with fixed obstacles. As soon as their horse clears the last obstacle, the show jumper takes over and speeds through a show jumping course as fast as possible. Meanwhile, the eventer gets ready, hands over their horse, and stands on a platform to wait for the moment the show jumper clears the last obstacle. Then comes the ultimate fitness test for the riders: a sprint to the waiting four-in-hand, jump in, and off they go to part three of this special CHIO-style jump-and-run game called the CHIO Cup.
