Jeb and I are on day 2 of scouting Pickwick Lake in Alabama in preparation for the first Online Catfishing Tournament's National Kayak Catfish Trail. We work a back creek and then move out to a main channel flat and ledge while testing different baits to see what these southern cats are favoring. Many fishermen love skipjack for bait, which I agree is great, but if the skipjack aren't in those waterways, I find the fish don't favor them. Today is a test between bluegill and shad.
