The Jewellery Editor discovers that spring has arrived early in London when she pays a visit to Fabergé to preview the stunning new Secret Garden high jewellery collection. Inspired by Peter Carl Fabergé’s love of flowers and the work of the French artist Chigall, this fresh new Fabergé jewellery collection brings together a myriad of coloured gemstones, carefully crafted into beautiful blossoms and bouquets. The Secret Garden Collection was created by a team of skilled craftsmen, led by Fabergé design director Natalia Shugaeva. Working off her exquisite sketches, they brought her vision to life by sourcing precious coloured gemstones, including green tsavorites, yellow sapphires, red spinels and Colombian emeralds, from all over the world. The stones were then cut to fit the floral designs and handed over to the Parisian jewellery atelier, where they were transformed into the vibrant collection we see today. Every single jewel in Fabergé’s Secret Garden collection is a masterpiece, from the centrepiece Fabergé necklace, which includes a detachable spinning Fabergé egg, handpainted with a garden scene, to the delicate bouquet brooch, which sits in a rock crystal vase when it is not been worn. And just like the famous Fabergé Easter eggs that made the brand famous worldwide, each jewel also contains a hidden surprise for you to discover.
