Week 8, Day 6 | Rest Isn't Lazy—Here's What Scripture Actually Says

"So then, a sabbath rest still remains for the people of God.” We treat rest as optional, sometimes even irresponsible. But the very first pages of Scripture tell us that after making everything, God rested. He did not need to. He chose to, and He wove that rhythm into creation as a gift for us. In this Lectio Divina, we close Week 8 by praying through Hebrews 4:9-11. The invitation is striking: a sabbath rest still remains, today, for anyone willing to enter it. The challenge is just as honest: it takes real effort to stop, because everything in us resists it. This is the Friday episode of Week 8 of Held. This week we received the permission to lie down in safety (Psalm 4:8), quieted the striving soul (Psalm 131), and close here, entering the rest God Himself modeled.
