Galway Shawl - recorded live in Oranmore, County Galway, Ireland

This traditional Irish folk song dates back to the 1930s and it's a story about a courtship in the West of Ireland in County Galway. When the Pub Runners began taking fans along on their Musical Tours of Ireland in 2018, their goal was to visit locations where songs were written or written about. In November, 2024, Jerry Belanger and Doug Berkshire along with their tour group visited County Galway and stopped at McDonagh's "The Thatch" Bar in the town of Oranmore where the song "Galway Shawl" is set.
