You do not need to download Dlink5 app unless you want to use it to mirror the screen. First. I was told to disconnect the Bluetooth connection on my phone with the stereo CarBT. and disconnect my phone from the stereo's Bluetooth. I'm not sure this is actually necessary. Second. Open the Zlink5 app on the stereo and select the gear on the bottom right corner for Settings. Change the connection to "Link Mode". Exit out of the app and restart the stereo. I used the settings to reboot, but you can probably just poke the RST button under the Mic. Third. On boot up, connect your phone to the stereo CarBT. I had to disconnect, delete device, then reconnect 2 or 3 times before the phone & the stereo actually started talking. Go into your phone's Bluetooth settings, select CarBT and turn on every mode you wish to use (like music). Now, when you select Dlink app on the stereo, you can access your phone, maps & music. The Bluetooth button on the stereo menu (BT) will also open the phone menu.
