VESDA-E VEU ASD vs. Ceiling Spot Detectors

VESDA-E VEU smoke detection performance is contrasted with spot detectors. 1. Purpose: Demonstrate VESDA-E VEU vs Spots (Apollo & Notifier) open area detection in a room of 60 sq.m with a ceiling height of 3 meters with no ventilation (still air room). 2. Test Method: UL 268 - Smoldering cotton wicks, slow smoldering event. 3. Approach VEU & spot detectors (Apollo & Notifier) & sampling holes are placed close to each other and spread evenly (6 detection locations) in the room. All 3 detection systems are set to same sensitivity settings 4. Results VESDA-E VEU registers fire alarm first (1 min 55 sec), followed by Apollo @ 6 min 10 sec. Notifier fails to register fire alarm until the end of test (end of combustion of cotton wicks) .
