The critically acclaimed TAD CE1 loudspeaker was renowned for its innovative design, both inside and out, capable of reproducing musical sounds in exquisite detail, without adding or subtracting anything to alter the subtleties and nuances of the musical message. In designing the new CE1TX, we have taken the already impressive performance of the CE1 to the next level, incorporating improvements and innovations both internally and externally. CLEARER, MORE NATURAL MIDFRONT AND TREBLE The CE1TX features TAD's proprietary Coherent Source Transducer (CST), which localizes sound sources for a more natural reproduction of music. Thanks to its ingenious design, the directivity of the concentrically mounted midrange and tweeter is finely controlled and perfectly aligned to eliminate any sonic interference. Like the tweeters in the TAD Reference Series speakers, R1TX and CR1TX, the CE1TX tweeter uses a beryllium diaphragm manufactured using our proprietary vapor deposition technique. The midrange features a new magnesium diaphragm, which reproduces a clearer, distortion-free midrange. This results in consistent soundstage localization and natural sound field reproduction across a very wide frequency range, from 250 Hz to 100 kHz. RICHER, SMOOTHER MIDRANGE The 18 cm woofer diaphragm has been replaced with a MACS II* diaphragm. It is composed of five layers of woven and non-woven materials to optimize the vibration characteristics of the shell-shaped diaphragm, which incorporates the central protective core and cone in a single piece. Other ingenious features of the woofer include the shaped rear cradle, which fully transmits the powerful driving force of the large neodymium magnet, and the aerodynamic, turbulence-suppressing design at the rear. Our attention to detail also extends to the materials, configuration, and finish of the chassis: the corrugated frame is covered with a damping material also found in our professional loudspeakers. All these refinements have resulted in richer, clearer bass and smooth, uncolored reproduction in the mid-bass range. Second-generation aramid multi-layer composite enclosure INCREDIBLY NATURAL AND RICH BASS The ADS* bidirectional port is another innovative approach to achieving ideal sound. This port is slotted into the left and right side panels of the speaker, with flared openings at the front and rear to allow air to flow smoothly. The symmetrical door vents, both laterally and along the front-to-rear axis, reduce door noise and prevent internal standing waves from escaping. You'll be amazed that such a compact speaker can deliver a rich and powerful bass response. Aerodynamic Slot MIRROR-FINISHED ENCLOSURE The CE1TX-WN speaker is crafted from wood with a mirror-finish design that creates the illusion of a wet surface, highlighting the grain. On the production line, skilled craftspeople spend hours meticulously finishing each cabinet, beginning by applying a high-quality clear coat to the surface and polishing the base coat and finish with a surface varnish.
