How to crochet baby trousers/Pants/shorts any size from a Granny octagon

Learn how to make trousers/pants from a Granny Octagon. Easy crochet pattern. This pattern is worked with treble crochet stitches if you're in the UK, this stitch is known as a double crochet if you're in the US. Begin with a chain of 2, treble, chain 1, treble in the first chain, this is going to be one of the sets of 3 stitches, and we will complete it at the end of the round. Continue working the rest of the stitches in the same chain. 2 treble, chain 1, then keep making 3 treble, chain one. You finish with 2 treble and 2 slip stitches. Your aim is 2 have 8 sets of 3 stitches with a chain 1 between each set. Yes it will leave a big hole in the middle and yes it is going to make a weird wobbly shape. Round 2. Chain 2, 2 treble, chain 1, 3 treble in that chain 1 space. 3 treble, chain 1, 3 treble in each of the remaining chain 1 spaces. Round 3 begins the same as round 2, then work 3 treble between the 2 sets of 3 stitches and work 3 treble, chain 1, 3 treble in the corners. At the end of this round, slip stich into the chain 1 space (corner) pull up the tail end, then count 3 corners going to your left, match that corner to the corner where your tail end is and you will see the trousers shape forms naturally. Continue to make as many rounds as you need so the top of the trousers will go around the lower waist of the baby/doll/plushie/child/adult. The leg length may be a little too long on teddies so they need to be turned up. The leg length may be a little too short on those with longer legs so you will need to add the stitches to the bottom of the leg sections. As the trousers are more like hipsters, I do demonstrate in my video how to add an easy waist band which has the ribbed effect. If you want to add ties, I slip stitched over a post at the back to keep it secure, made a chain as long as I needed, the slip stitched back down the chain. This can be easily woven through the ribbed section so it will pull tight like a drawstring.
