CAMINO INGLES | DAY ONE | FERROL TO NEDA | The Adventure Begins! #caminoingles

The Camino Inglés, or English Way, runs from Ferrol to Santiago de Compostela. At around 112 kilometres, it's the shortest of the Camino routes to qualify for a Compostela certificate, and can comfortably be walked in a week. Before leaving Ferrol pilgrims must purchase their pilgrim passport, and obtain stamps from bars, churches and albergues along the route. At least two stamps a day are needed to qualify for the Compostela. Dormitory-style accommodation for passport holding pilgrims is available at public albergues, although it is first come first served! The Camino Inglés, like all the Caminos, is well waymarked and signposted - it's almost impossible to get lost. ‪@RamblingRevRae‬and I walked the Camino Inglés over six days in early October 2024 and we'd highly recommend it. I can honestly say the experience was life-changing. It's far more than just another hiking trail. Our first day took us from the start in Ferrol, along the bay past shipyards and a monastery, and into the pretty town of Narón and its impressive double-arched bridge. We stayed in the municipal Albergue de la Xunta de Neda. Find out more about the Camino Inglés here; https://caminoways.com/camino-ingles
