Not a search-and-destroy mission for why it happened and who's the culprit. Spiritual direction asks: what guidance is coming out of this for you? What are you meant to figure out right now? People do this thing they call processing. They tell the story again and again. But where does that lead you? Spiritual direction goes for the guidance. It is that gentle dialogue that takes the fear out of the experiences you're going through and helps you begin to see them as something you need to move through — and this is what you need to decide.
