Behind seemingly secure conditions, potential security disturbances can emerge at any time, escalating at a rate that is difficult to predict. The police are often faced with rapidly changing situations, triggered by various unrest within the community. In each of these unrests, threats to property, lives, and public facilities pose a real risk that must be anticipated early. To address these challenges, the Pringsewu Police Department held a command headquarters security simulation exercise (Sispammako) and a city security simulation exercise (Sispamkota). The exercise took place in the Pringsewu Police Headquarters yard on Thursday (April 9, 2026) and was led by the Head of Operations for the Pringsewu Police Department, AKP Minan, SH. The exercise demonstrated various scenarios, ranging from conducive situations to situations that escalate out of control. Personnel were trained to respond quickly, appropriately, and measuredly, including when dealing with potential anarchic actions that could disrupt public order. Pringsewu Police Chief, AKBP M. Yunnus Saputra, through the Head of the AKP Minan Division, stated that this exercise was not merely routine, but part of an effort to improve personnel preparedness amidst the dynamic public order and security situation. "Recently, we have seen developments, both nationally and globally, that have tended to fluctuate. This situation can certainly impact security stability in the region, so personnel preparedness is absolutely essential," he said. According to him, potential security disturbances can arise in various forms, such as demonstrations, social conflicts, and criminal acts that exploit the situation. "Through this exercise, we want to ensure that all personnel understand their roles and responsibilities in the field. Everything from preventive measures and handling escalations to recovery must be carried out professionally," he explained. He emphasized that the current security pattern requires officers to be not only reactive, but also predictive and responsive to any potential disturbances. "We must be able to detect potential disturbances early on to prevent them from developing into real threats," he emphasized. Furthermore, AKP Minan stated that this training is also part of our preparation for future community events, including the potential for increased activity during the May Day commemoration in early May. "We want to ensure that the public can express their aspirations safely and orderly, while the authorities are present to ensure security with a professional and humane approach," he concluded. (*)
