An absolutely FANTASTIC knife from Solingen, Germany! Friedrich Hartkopf Taschenmesser in Redwood.

Salutations. In today's video, I will be discussing an incredible budget knife from Germany. This knife is made by Friedrich Hartkopf of Solingen. The brand was founded by Friedrich Wilhelm Hartkopf in 1890 and made a name for itself by crafting fine, traditional pocket knives. The company is still owned by the descendants of the founder. Friedrich Hartkopf is quite the hidden gem to us in the West. In Germany, the company still has a following of loyal customers. I am delighted to say, that this brand is one of the best I have seen for price-to-value knives. The quality is outstanding and the style is timeless. This knife cost 34.95 GBP. It was purchased at Moonraker Knoves UK, however, it's currently out of stock. The knife features Redwood handles, which could mean a number of things. Most brands advertising "Redwood" handled knives are using resinwood such as Pakkawood or Stamina Wood. However, in the case of Hartkopf, it has been stated that only the wood in it's natural form is used, leading me to believe that these handles are a type of Sequoia. (Also known as Redwood) In the video, I mentioned 'Giant Sequoia', however Redwood is a smaller, more common species of tree. Either way, this is an amazing knife for a great price. Cheers! #knives #edc #friedrichhartkopf
