Drawing from the ethereal and darkly poetic tone of L.M.Montgomery’s story, I sought to create a cinematic experience that challenges perceptions and invites introspection. Throughout the narrative, there exists a deliberate dissonance between the story as told by the narrator - a cautionary tale of pride and downfall - and the visual representation of the Princess's perspective. While the world perceives her as haughty and self-absorbed, we glimpse beneath the surface to uncover her longing for freedom and authenticity. Ultimately, this film explores the challenges faced by women who dare to seek autonomy and freedom.
