ROME 🇮🇹 | Travel Day & Day One ✈️🧳🍕

Welcome to our FIRST EVER travel vlog series! 🥹 Taking a vlogging camera on holiday with us was something completely out of our comfort zone but we had the best time and I really hope that shows through the vlogs! Obviously we aren't experts, we're just a couple of amateurs having a laugh 🤭. We flew with Ryanair from East Midlands airport and stayed in an Airbnb in Piazza Testaccio! Testaccio is a lovely little town, next to Trastevere and within walking distance to the monuments. It also has great transport links and food spots. Truly a hidden gem. On our first day, we definitely took "When in Rome..." to the extreme, and immediately after settling into our apartment (and another outfit change later), we headed out for lunch as we were starving. To recap, we had meatball pizza pockets and tortellini suppli from Trapizzino, pizza from Alice's pizza and gelato from Giolitti. 🤤 Quick chill back at the apartment before heading out to Trastevere where we had dinner at Tonnarello. This was my first ever carbonara, and it was very tasty! Probably not the best option for me given I'm lactose intolerant, but I'm glad I finally tried one (and what better place to have your first carbonara than in Italy, right?!) After exploring Trastevere a little, we ended the evening by popping into Futura Gelato d'ispirazione on the way home. This is located in Testaccio, so only a short walk from our apartment. The Gelato here was DELICIOUS! We would definitely recommend all of the food spots we trialled on our first day.
