La arquitectura de los Santos Juanes: certezas e incertidumbres | Carlos Campos González

Lecture on the architecture of one of the oldest churches in Valencia. The architect in charge of the renovation of the Santos Juanes church in Valencia, Carlos Campos González, gave a lecture entitled "The Architecture of the Santos Juanes: Certainties and Uncertainties." One of the great monuments of Valencia's artistic heritage is currently being restored. The Church of Santos Juanes, the church that stands opposite the Central Market and the Lonja, is being restored to its former glory. The church has been declared a National Historic Monument since 1947 and will gradually recover both its ornamental beauty and the building's architectural features. The restoration is being carried out on two levels. On the one hand, the restoration of the fresco paintings on the church's vault, the work of Antonio Palomino, is being carried out by the team led by Professor Pilar Roig. While on the other hand, the architectural intervention aims to correct the structural and construction deficiencies to ensure the preservation of the building, including its facades. This project is directed by architect Carlos Campos. Carlos Campos's Curriculum Vitae: Carlos Campos González is an architect from the Valencia School of Architecture (1977).
