Natalia Kukulska – an outstanding artist who abhors routine, half-measures, and stagnation – reveals in an interview with Olivier Janiak why she doesn't like to take shortcuts. She discusses the difficult experience of living "in the spotlight" after her mother's tragic death, what shaped her (and continues to shape her), what ignites her passions, and what gives her the strength to act. Natalia Kukulska is one of Poland's finest vocalists. In addition to singing, she also writes lyrics and co-composes music. She is the daughter of Polish music legend Anna Jantar and composer Jarosław Kukulski. She made her debut at the age of 7, releasing the albums "Natalia" and "Bajki Natalki." These albums earned her a platinum record—the first in the history of Polish phonography. In 1996, she released her first "adult" album, "Światło." This was followed by the multi-platinum album "Puls" (featuring hits such as "W bieg" and "Im więcej Ciebie, tym mojego"), "Autoportret," and seven more albums. In 2020, she released "Czułe struny," set to the music of Fryderyk Chopin. Her latest, anniversary album, "Kukulska. MTV Unplugged," premiered on May 10, 2022. The artist has won numerous awards and distinctions, including the Telekamera and Fryderyk Awards. She has collaborated with world-renowned musicians, including the R&G duo, the Harlem Gospel Choir, and the Atom String Quartet. SNN has called her an icon of the Polish music scene.
