The Untold Story: The Dominican Brothers and their Vocation, a Wise Habits event
Presented by Augustine Thompson, O.P., DSPT Professor of History While the history of Dominican priests, and to a lesser extent the nuns and sisters, has long be a topic of study and reflection, no such attention has ever been paid to the permanent brothers of the Order, who were long known as "lay brothers" and now as "cooperator brothers." Fr. Augustine Thompson O.P. of our Western Province published the first book-length history of the brothers at the request of the Master for the 800th Anniversary of the Order. In this session of Wise Habits, Fr. Augustine, will summarize this history and highlight several remarkable and historically important lay brothers, and how their lives and work can inspire all of us today. Learn more about Fr.
