The story of ELIS and SAFI begins with an opening door. "I had just arrived in Rome, it was March 1963," recalls Gilberto Balducci. Bruno Picker was at the door and said to me, "You're Gilberto, I'm Bruno; we'll have to open the Tiburtino professional school. I don't know how to do it, and I don't think you do either." On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the inauguration of ELIS (November 21, 1965), in this short video we recount how we arrived at the beginning of this adventure in service to the Church and society, which St. Josemaría called the "University of Work."
