The moment you step inside, you find yourself in a strange world where the retro atmosphere of the Showa and Heisei eras blend together, as if time has simply stopped right here. Anpanman rides left in the parking lot, the chaotic seats of the carousel, and that shocking sign posted at the entrance reading "500,000 yen fine if you break the rides"... This place, once a hangout for "yankees" (rebellious youth), is now a deeply hidden amusement hall known only to true insiders. Inside the building are countless retro games still stubbornly running, like the rare 1993 boxing game "Captain Zodiac" and Pokémon-themed slot machines! And as you weave between the games, a massive basketball area and a baseball throwing game suddenly appear out of nowhere — the surprises just keep coming. But the charm of this place doesn't stop there. While filming, we came across an incredibly friendly cat family (kittens included!). The scene created together by the retro games and the cats is truly breathtaking. After filling up on food from a retro vending machine that unlocks when you insert coins, we headed to an unbelievably cheap karaoke room. Once inside, we fully understood why local high schoolers flock there in the evenings (just 30 yen for 30 minutes!). When the sun sets, the nostalgic daytime atmosphere completely transforms, and Tamashima Playland becomes a strange yet incredibly moving hideout, like a "daydream." The simple fact that this place still exists after all these years feels like a miracle in itself.
