Rehab Caregiver Caught Stealing Thousands in Cash & Credit Cards From Recovering Patients

West Palm Beach, FL - on February 9th 2026, West Palm Beach police responded to a local recovery center, after receiving a report of an employee stealing from multiple patients. The investigation reveals that Jermya Adams, 25, has allegedly charged almost $2,500 for rent on at least 5 different patient's credit cards. There are also various unauthorized charges for T Mobile and Walmart. Additionally, the vulnerable patients have also reported at least $200 missing in cash. Detectives discover Jermya has a court date the next day for unpaid rent, and develop a plan to make a surprise arrest at the court house. Jermya was charged with felony grand theft, felony fraudulent use of credit card, and felony fraudulent use of personal identification.
