Pierre Coffin ("Minions & Monsters") Interview | Bringing the Minions to Old Hollywood

Pierre Coffin returns to the world of the Minions with "Minions & Monsters," the latest chapter in Illumination's blockbuster "Despicable Me" franchise. Set in 1927, decades before the events of "Minions" (2015), the film follows everyone's favorite yellow troublemakers as they set out to make a monster movie of their own in Old Hollywood. Featuring an all-star voice cast including Trey Parker, Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeff Bridges, Zoey Deutch, Bobby Moynihan, and Phil LaMarr, the film has earned some of the strongest reviews in the franchise since the original "Despicable Me." Pierre Coffin was kind enough to spend some time speaking with Daniel Howat for Next Best Picture about returning to direct and voice the Minions, crafting the film's classic Hollywood setting, balancing comedy with heartfelt storytelling, collaborating with Brian Lynch, and more.
