Titan Farmer's Carry Handle Deadlifts- 200 lbs. each hand (400 lbs. total) for 10 singles. I turned 66 yesterday. I was not unhappy with this effort as it was 97 degrees with a heat index of 109 out on the back porch today. I do not use straps or grips of any kind, only chalk. My grip felt good. But there's more- Approximately six weeks ago I severely strained my left groin and adductor playing kickball. For some unknow reason, I thought I was 15 and decided to sprint home on a ball kicked to the outfield. On the 3rd step I felt and heard a loud pop. Thus ended my resurgent kickball career. My left leg turned completely black and purple. After several days I went to Orlando Orthopedic where I received my diagnosis. I was told to completely avoid and deadlifts or leg work for several weeks. I complied but did do physical therapy at Select Therapy. They were, as always, outstanding. On Monday, July 6th, I received my discharge from PT. On Tuesday, July 7th (my birthday) I had a follow-up at Orlando Orthopedic and was given the go-ahead to resume training at my discretion, gradually working back into my normal weights and movements. On Wednesday, July 8th, I did this workout. I did not push it too hard as this was a feeling out process to see how it would go. I did not do my hip hinge as vigorously as normal as I didn't want to irritate anything. It's good to be back doing what I like to do. I will take it gradually from here but, I intend to be as strong as I can as long as I can.
