In this video, I walk you through a branch of Central Market, a small (Texas-only) H&E-B chain. Central Market's focus is on unusual foods and high-quality gourmet items, which is why this store is extremely expensive. The most expensive supermarket in Texas? Hard to say. If I had to bet, I'd say 'yes.' The store's concept is also different from Whole Foods, which, in terms of price, is almost a discount store. Whole Foods focuses more on organic produce (which you can also find in abundance at Central Market), but less on the gourmet aspect, and unusual foods aren't usually found at Whole Foods either.
