1970 Brands Hatch 1000km Pedro Rodriguez Rain Master

Footage of the 1970 Brands Hatch 1000km race in which Pedro Rodriguez showed his driving skills, mastering the allmighty Porsche 917 under appaling weather conditions. After being blackflagged very early in the race for overtaking under yellow ( Pedro never saw the yellow flag because of the spray ) and being lectured by the Clerk of the Course Nick Syrett, he stormed out of the pits one lap down. By lap 20, he was back in the lead and finished the race 5 laps ahead of the second placed 917 driven by Elford and Hulme. Both Rodriguez and Elford drove 5h 40min of the 6H 45 min race leaving the rest for their co-drivers Kinnunen and Hulme. Those were the days.
