Discos com encontros memoráveis no Jazz
The history of jazz is made up of great encounters. Whether on club stages in famous jam sessions, or in studio recordings. Over time, many of these encounters have been recorded and captured on vinyl records. In this episode, I bring some examples of memorable encounters that have become part of music history. I've selected some works from my record collection featuring duets promoted by labels such as Verve Records, Pablo Records, Atlantic Records, Impulse Records, and Polydor Records that have gone down in history. Albums featured in this episode: Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers with Thelonious Monk – Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers with Monk Thelonious (1958) – Atlantic Records (1978 BR) Duke Ellington & Coleman Hawkins – Duke Ellington Meets Coleman Hawkins (1963) – ABC / Impulse Records (1976 BR) Jimmy Smith & Wes Montgomery – Jimmy & Wes (The Dynamic Duo) (1967) – Verve Records / Speakers Corner Records (2006 DE) Corea / Hancock – An Evening with Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock (1978) – Polydor Records (UY) Count Basie & Oscar Peterson – Night Rider (1980) – Pablo Records (BR) Highlights: Presentation and production: Lúcio Brancato Editing and finalization: Jose Pedro Villalobos Artwork and opening sequence: Marcelo Costa Instagram: / altosplays Contact: [email protected]
