These two whiteboards are in my consulting room, and they contain most of the important information I need to address patients' concerns and provide psychotherapy, as well as diagrams to help explain things. If I'm talking to a patient and realize I need to explain something, I add it in. While adding and subtracting, I feel like the essential concepts I need to explain are listed here. Of course, each patient has their own unique theme, so I don't use this every time, but I do use it quite often. I'm thinking of publishing this as a healing theory in the Mental Health Encyclopedia, the Masuda Method, and publishing some of it as a book or handing out pamphlets in the future. I've just finished writing it up, so I think it will eventually reach your hands. This is pretty good. I think it's incredibly good. It's full of originality and is incredibly good. What's great about it is that most of it wasn't even thought up by Yusuke Masuda. I put it all together myself, but it's basically just a rearrangement of common elements, and it feels like something quite rare. So, without any self-promotion, I'd like to share 10 important concepts for preventing depression and avoiding mental illness from this whiteboard that I've been adding and subtracting from on YouTube and in clinical practice. ◾️The Mind is the Brain Let's get started. First of all, what's important is that we start from here. Knowing that "the mind is the brain" is key. The mind is the brain, so if you're not feeling well, take a rest. Know that the mind is the brain, and if you feel unwell, make sure to take a good rest. This is the first important thing. ◾️ Knowledge changes the world you see The next important thing is this. Human cognition is based on knowledge and experience. We can only see what we know. We see the world based on what we know, and we see the world the way we want to see it. If you look at an optical illusion, you'll see that the way it looks changes once you know the answer, right? In the same way, we can't see if we don't know, and we can see if we know. And we recognize things that are even more complex than optical illusions. So if you have negative knowledge or think negatively, life will be boring and you will see things negatively. We know that the way we see the world is determined by knowledge, so it's better to increase your own knowledge, change your worldview, and live a happier life. I think you can see that this is important, and that studying is important. This is the second point. ◾️Life Stages The third point is to be aware of life stages. We are born and we die. It may seem obvious, but people often forget this. In my psychiatric clinical practice, I often hear people say, "I want to die, I don't want to live," but they rarely, if ever, imagine what it means to grow old or what they'll be like in five or ten years. Many of them are unable to do so. Even though they say they want to die, they don't know any concrete ways to do it other than death, or what it means to grow old or grow up. The things that bother you in your 20s won't bother you in your 30s, and the things that bother you in your 30s won't bother you in your 60s. Often, you wonder if the things that are bothering you now will really still be bothering you in five or ten years. Just being aware of this can make a big difference. ◾️Mentors Also, mentors are important. This is the fourth point. It's like bringing someone you respect into your heart, or calling them to you.
