KiwiRail And Dunedin Railways At Work - January 2026 (4K)

Another 2 days spent filming KiwiRail freight services and this time we captured some Dunedin Railways passenger services including their DJ class locos and DI 1102 which is currently on loan from Diesel Traction Group. In this video we film between Mosgiel and Waitati capturing DX, DC, DFB, DJ and DI class locomotives. We start off with DXBs 5080 and 5120 leading train 924 away from Mosgiel before we focus on Train Y22 which was lead by a few different Locomotives starting with a DXC and DFB combo followed by a combo of DFBs and DXC/DXB Combo. We also see train 925 with 4 locos at the head including 3 DCs after the DXC failed at Palmerston. We end our time in Dunedin with a trio of morning trains at Abbotsford including 931, Dunedin Railways DJs and a DC hauled Y22 shunt. Turn up the speakers and enjoy the sounds of the EMD/GE power!!!!
