I Finally Played Aliens: Fireteam Elite Before The Sequel Arrives I finally played Aliens: Fireteam Elite for the first time, and honestly, I have no idea how this one passed me by. With Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 on the way, I wanted to jump into the first game and see what I had missed. The first thing that hit me was how good the game still looks. It may only be around five years old, but the lighting, atmosphere, environments, and Alien universe detail all hold up really well. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find anyone online at the time of recording, so this first run was done with two bots. To be fair, they handled themselves better than expected, but the game definitely could have used some squad commands for solo players. At its core, Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a straightforward horde shooter, but putting that formula inside the Alien universe gives it a lot more weight. Xenomorphs crawling through vents, tight corridors, pulse rifles, and waves of enemies closing in from every angle. It works. I enjoyed my first run, I’ll definitely be playing Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 when it lands, and I might continue this one too. If anyone fancies jumping in for a game, let me know in the comments.
