Overcrest '23

"Take the Car" or "Sportscar Adventureland" These are mission statements of the Overcrest Rally. This is the 2nd Overcrest rally we've been fortunate to join. It was a full week’s adventure. We left Southern California early on a Tuesday morning and met up with fellow rally travelers in Fallon, Nevada. The following day we drove to Boise, Idaho where registration took place at Lupo Motors. Thursday morning started early with a 2-hour pre-dawn gravel drive to the start, which was at the remote Leslie Gulch boat ramp in Jordan Valley, Oregon. We finished the day with a group dinner at Haines Steak House outside of Baker City, Oregon. Friday morning was another sunrise start, but this time at the 7,000 feet high Anthony Lakes Mountain Ski Resort. We spent the day zig-zagging west and enjoying the high desert of Eastern Oregon until we arrived “exhausted” in Madras, Oregon. Saturday morning was a classic autumn drive across the Willamette National Forest. We arrived at sunset in Molalla, Oregon, where we were treated to a pop-up drive-in theater festival at Key Motors Auto Wrecking.
