Inside the Orchestra: Artists As Athletes
Join Erin Lunsford Norton (Associate Director, Classical Programming), Festival Orchestra of Lincoln Center musicians, and guest artists for an inside look at the lives of orchestral musicians and insights on the evening's concert program. Amidst this summer’s celebrations of the global spirit of soccer and the intersections of arts and sport, Erin and her guests will explore how musicians are athletes too. How do musicians rely on their bodies to perfect their craft, and how do they care for their bodies to ensure long careers? How does adrenaline play into how musicians perform? And how can disability impact how musicians and composers engage with their craft? These questions and more will be answered in this insightful pre-concert discussion. This event will begin with members of the Festival Orchestra of Lincoln Center playing a selection from Ludwig van Beethoven's String Trio in C minor, Op. 9, No. 3. _____________ Welcome to Lincoln Center, home to 11 resident arts organizations.
