Synth Stuff Ep. 5 - Kawai K1
Here's an unusual one. The K1 was a budget oriented digital synth from 1988. The sound sits somewhere between a Roland D-50 and a Korg M1, although much more lo-fi. That lo-fi character is actually kind of nice sometimes. It's not always the right sound, but it's a cool flavor when you find a way to squeeze it into a track. This is another synth that's really fun to put through some spaced-out pedals. One day, I'd really like to have a K4. For some reason, the sound reminds me of early Playstation 1 soundtracks...
