“Today Will Be a Peaceful Day” Breathe in… feel the air inside Breathe out… stay right here Thoughts arise like waves in the mind Just see them pass… don’t follow them We’ve been running, chasing every thought Forgetting life that’s right in front Just one breath… just awareness And the whole world starts to slow down Today will be a peaceful day No one can take my peace away Except myself Today will be a peaceful day Coming back to every breath My heart comes home again Screens in our hands pull us away Doing everything all at once Eating but tasting nothing at all Living fast… but never here One thing at a time… one mindful step One breath is all we need Peace is not somewhere far away It’s waiting right here with me Today will be a peaceful day I choose not to chase the world Today will be a peaceful day My inner world must rest first When my heart is calm… my home is calm When my mind is still… love remains If we all begin with ourselves The world will never beg for peace again Today will be a peaceful day I say it out loud to the universe Today will be a peaceful day I choose compassion over reaction (Music fades slowly) Today… and every day May our hearts find their way home
