“We would get up at 5 a.m. to go get coffee at Selecto, and then walk to the station on Tamaulipas Street, between Benito Juárez and Aduana. My dad would check his car and whistle to the ticket seller to get on. The streetcar would then begin its journey down Juárez to what is now Héroes del Cañonero (formerly Ribera),” recalls Ismael Rocha García, a firsthand witness to the streetcar era in Tampico.
