Why Dentistry?

Why Dentistry? It’s the dreaded question that puts us on the spot when we’re writing our personal statements, giving an interview or even having a casual conversation. Many people are curious as to how someone can be passionate about a profession like dentistry. I get it, for other careers it’s a bit more obvious. So I decided to ask a few people (and myself) why!? Hopefully it can help those of you considering dentistry, or those of you that just cant put into words why you want to do dentistry. I know Dentistry vs. Medicine is mentioned a lot, not to say that dentistry is better than medicine (that’s not possible) but to show the thought process of choosing dentistry, a branch of medicine, over other healthcare professions. Also, I know I said stimulated instead of simulated (we all make mistakes)... Thank you to everyone who took part in the video, it showed how similar but unique our reasons for choosing dentistry are!
