2026 Can-Am Defender, step-by-step PDrive weight installation guide!

Weight Installation Steps (pDrive Primary)The Aftermarket Assassins S1 kit allows you to swap out your factory weights on the vehicle without pulling the entire primary clutch, though using a clutch puller can make it easier on the bench.1.Access and Clean the CVT:Requires T30 Torx.Remove your CVT clutch cover. Before touching the internals, use compressed air to thoroughly blow out all built-up belt dust from the primary clutch sheaves.2.Compress the pDrive Primary:Requires Clutch Spreading/Compression Tool.Use a clutch governor cup compression tool or pDrive spreading tool to safely compress the primary clutch, relieving tension on the internal mechanisms and exposing the three centrifugal weight arms.3.Remove Factory Pivot Pins:Requires T25 Torx.Locate the pivot pins securing the factory weight arms. Use a T25 Torx driver to unthread and slide out the pivot pins, then remove the soft OEM weights. Keep track of the nylon thrust washers on each side.4.Load the Recoil Magnetic Weights:Refer to AA Setup Sheet.Load the AA adjustable Recoil arms with the specified number of magnetic weights according to your tire size and altitude guidelines. Slide the magnets into the weight tracks using the provided tool.5.Install New Arms & Verify Clearance:Hand Tighten / Check Swing.Slide the loaded AA Recoil weights into place, ensuring the nylon washers are perfectly aligned and not pinched. Reinsert the pivot pins and torque to spec. Ensure every weight swings completely free with zero binding.
