From his debut Kaili Blues onward, his films have become outlets for that fire — poems written in light and time. What’s even more astonishing is his second gift: the ability to articulate the chaos of artistic intuition and the blur of lived experience with extraordinary clarity. With Resurrection — premiered at Cannes and soon to be released theatrically around the world — he brings us dreamscapes that stretch across a century. In this long-form conversation, he also brings us an “interpretation of dreams” — a map to the mysterious world from which his images grow.
