With this run, I now have the record for all three characters in the glitched categories for Sonic 3 & Knuckles. So this run has received a couple of additional strats and optimizations, mainly adding the Carnival Night 1 level wrap in the route, alternate method of Flying Battery 1 level wrap and a new route in Sandopolis 2. Outside of a very bad Launch Base 2 and a 2nd try Sandopolis 1 level wrap, this run was very good. 23:xx is possible. I do Sonic speedruns live at:   / joeybaby69   What is RTA-TB? RTA-TB stands for Real Time Attack minus Time Bonus. Sonic 3 speedruns are timed using standard real time, but eliminating the time it takes for the time bonus from each act to finish. The reason for this is because you are awarded a 50000 point time bonus whenever you finish an act under a minute, which takes 8.7 seconds. Over a minute and it'll give you 10000 points, which takes 1.8 seconds. So if two runners finished a level with a 0:59​ time and a 1:00​ time respectively, the slower runner would have the time advantage due to the longer time bonus on the faster player. Raw RTA would encourage intentionally going slow to go fast, which is stupid, so RTA-TB was born. What console/version of Sonic 3 & Knuckles are you playing?
