Brownlow Fold Mills | Halliwell, Bolton
Brownlow Fold Mills (cotton spinning) are located in Halliwell, Bolton. They were built for Richard Harwood and Son and housed 80,000 spindles. The building in the video without the arched windowed tower was an extension to No.1 Mill. No.1 Mill was built in 1860 and later demolished in 1961. The other building seen here is No.2 Mill, dating from 1905. Also in the background of some of the shots is Mill No.3 which dates from 1907. The Mills are still in use by various businesses.
