Sergio Carlacchiani (aka Karl Esse, Sergio e Basta!, il Clamorosissimo, Lo Sciamano, Il Rabdomante, Vento dell'Adriatico, Outsideraro, SergiOdisseo), born in Macerata, lives in Civitanova Marche. An actor, director, voice actor, poet, performer, and painter, he has created over a thousand paintings (some of which are in his collection) and has also organized painting exhibitions, performances, and happenings. His works have been exhibited worldwide. As the artistic director of various theater festivals, he has worked with linear, visual, concrete, and sound poetry, as well as mail art. He created books/objects and wrote several books of poetry, to remember: 1980, Poesie - Collana Poeti D’oggi, Gabrieli Editore, Rome. 1983 - Quadri di Parole, edited by the Association for Research on Writing, Grafiche Cardarelli & Casarola Editore, Monte San Giusto (MC), 1987 - Quadri di parole 2, Grafiche Cardarelli & Casarola Editore, Monte San Giusto (MC) to remember among others a book/folder with four hands with Alda Merini (defined as his loving friendship, see Corriere della Sera and "Una creatura fatta per la gioia", a book also written by the poet Maria Grazia Calandrone), dedicated to Vanni Scheiwiller, published in 2000 on behalf of the Municipality of Morrovalle, on the occasion of: Donne In/contro -Donna Modello, published by Tipografia Fioroni of Casette d’Ete - (FM), in 300 copies, numbered and signed by the two authors, containing six aphorisms and three unpublished poems written by the poet, plus six charcoal drawings by the artist from the Marche region. In recent years, Carlacchiani has published three volumes of poetry with the publishing house RPlibri of San Giorgio del Sannio (BN): INDISCREZIONI DAL FORTILIZIO, June 2020, TESTAMENTO, June 2022, and DADAADALDA, January 2024. It is worth remembering that in 2021, the painter Sergio Carlacchiani presented an anthological exhibition in Civitanova Marche: "The sublime and bestial creative fever" Paintings and other works from 1973 to 2021, accompanied by an important catalog. Also in 2021, he was awarded the Lido dell'Anima - International Annual Award: Penna d'oro 2021, for his poetic work. Some of his poems, collected and translated into English, Romanian, Spanish, and Portuguese, have been published in anthologies that have been published abroad, including in Spain, Romania, Venezuela, and Egypt. The poet-painter is also an actor, having studied at the Minimo Teatro in Macerata. He has performed in Italian theaters in various recitals of his own devising. In Rome, he graduated in film dubbing techniques. He has collaborated with A. Merini, M. Hack, S. Rubini, F. Bosso, E. Finardi, C. Bocci, E. Jannacci, and D.D. Bonaventura. He has received numerous awards, including the 2009 CreativaMente Award from the Province of Macerata. On June 29, 2010, the poet's birthday, he was invited to perform a recital at the Colle dell'Infinito: "Chopin & Leopardi, the Poet of the Piano and the Poet of Poets," together with pianist Lorenzo Di Bella. Following the widespread acclaim, Countess Olimpia, representing the Leopardi family, asked the actor to perform a selection of the famous Canti in the recording studio. In 2011, Giacomo & Giacomo SRL released the CD "O grazioso luna, io mi rammento..." and presented it in June 2012 at the National Center for Leopardi Studies in Recanati at the Colle dell'Infinito, with a recital again performed by Sergio Carlacchiani. The reason for this "gamble" is well described in the CD's introductory note by Lucio Felici, President of the CNSL Scientific Committee: "Carlacchiani is a versatile artist who has long dedicated himself to public readings of poets. In tackling Leopardi's Canti, he tenaciously worked on the texts, avoiding—as is rarely the case—the theatrical emphasis and immersing himself, each time, in the situations of the 18 selected poems." In 2014 and 2022, the actor returned to the Colle dell’Infinito in Recanati, on Leopardi's birthday, with the recital "A voi gentili anime" and subsequently with "Il mio amatissimo Giacomo"; in 2014 with the Quartetto delle Marche and in 2022, with the QuartEight Piano. In 2014, other recitals: at the Futura Festival in Civitanova Marche "E il dì futuro del dì presente" and in Monte San Giusto "Comento fatto per noi..." In 2020, Giacomo "Leopardi & Chet Baker" with the musician Dino Rubino. Carlacchiani has a YouTube channel that can count on approximately 25,000 of his performances, distributed across 38 playlists, 8,000 subscribers and 4,500,000 listens.
