Hertfordshire Village Walks: Verulamium to Gorhambury
This walk takes me from the old Roman town of Verulamium, in St. Albans, down to the tiny hamlet of Potters Crouch and then across to the Gorhambury Estate. Here we walk in what seems like splendid isolation and visit the ruins of the Old Gorhambury House, built in Tudor times by Sir Nicholas Bacon. We then continue through the estate and back down the very long drive back to verulamium.
