We Climbed one of Bolivia's Highest Mountains Unguided - Huayna Potosi
I didn't expect this climb to be so dangerous, especially considering it's widely sold by tour companies in La Paz to people who aren't mountaineers. Referred to by many as 'the easiest 6000m peak in the world', Huayana Potosi is anything but. We spend a week around La Paz, Bolivia, hiking and acclimatising, to get ourselves ready for Huayana Potosi's huge attitude. We sleep at 2 refuges along the way to the summit, Refugio Casa Blanca at 4,800m and Las Rochas at 5,150m. The summit push was long, cold and pretty brutal, having to navigate a huge glacier for most of the way and steep rocky terrain towards the summit. Guides were hauling their clients up by the ropes, many of which eventually turned around. The summit was hard earned but spectacular, with views of the Andes mountains's Cordillera Real surrounding you, and even the beautiful Illimani mountain. I'm climbing the 7 Summits from sea level and to sea level, watch the video below to find out more: • I'm climbing the 7 Summits from Sea to Sea To follow my journey, subscribe to the YouTube channel and follow me on Instagram: / traintosummit Or if you would like to directly support my goal, please follow me on Patreon: / traintosummit #huaynapotosi #mountaineering
