Murillo is the Baroque painter who best represents the new language of faith, to which he dedicated his particular sensibility inclined towards gentle and tender values. With prodigious ease, he created a serene and peaceful style of painting, like his own character, in which compositional and expressive balance prevails, along with the delicacy and innocence of his models, never moved by extreme emotions. Murillo was born in Seville, where he spent most of his life, in 1617, possibly in the last days of the year, since he was baptized on January 1, 1618, in the Church of La Magdalena. The family's economic situation was quite comfortable, and the future painter grew up without hardship.
