Episode 7: Pelvic Floor Activation (Kegels)
Understanding the anatomy of the pelvic floor is necessary for creating connection to muscle activation and relaxation. Now that we understand the anatomy, we can move on to pelvic floor activation. Andrea Plitz, physiotherapist, walks us through imagery and cueing to start engaging the the 1st two layers of the pelvic floor (urogential triangle) to support the bladder. These are great cues for kegels and finding what works best for you and your body/brain connection will be beneficial. Andrea is a physiotherapist in Ottawa Ontario with focus on women's health and pelvic floor physiotherapy. Along with her clinical practice, she is the co-founder of Bloom Integrative Health & Movement Centre.
