Blue Springs & Wairere Falls | Day Trips from Tauranga

The blue springs are a beautiful sight, with crystal clear water welling to the surface and feeding a river full of waving green vegetation, trout and birdlife. The Te Waihou walkway is a 10km round trip that follows the river, a great thing to do in the Waikato, only 45 minutes from Tauranga. Nearby you'll also find the Wairere Falls, the highest waterfalls on the North Island, which drop 153m. There is a great path that can be followed first to the base of the waterfall and then upward to above the falls, offering great views.
