Build the Future LEGO® Education Computer Science & AI Launch Webinar

On 15th April 2025, Creative Hut hosted a webinar to celebrate the launch of the Computer Science and AI Kits. The webinar features an overview of the kits as well as how the kits work with curriculum aligned lesson planning. Kits can be purchased at https://creative-hut.com/ Q&As from the webinar included: 1. What happens if cards go walkabout? Hardware can be connected without them by putting the hardware into Bluetooth pairing and selecting the motor/sensor/controller with the strongest signal. Can also buy replacement cards 2. Do you get any issues with pupils getting mixed up between devices when setting them up? The connecting process is very intuitive and has a tutorial screen each time they do it. The kids will pick it up really quickly! 3. Is the 11 plus box available at present? Yes 4. Spare Parts: Couldn’t they [cards] be bought as spares? Yes 5. If Lego pieces go missing, can individual pieces be ordered? Yes, pick a brick or a replacement box can be ordered 6. Can you buy the year 7-9 kit and use it "down the way" to cover all age groups? The hardware is the same for all, however each box has a certain combination of LEGO pieces for each of the age appropriate builds. Therefore many pieces differ across each of the three sets 7. Could you buy the pieces for the Y4 - Y6 kits and add them to the 11+ to create a kit that served both? Possibly, but not sure how many extra pieces you will need. I can imagine it might be a lot. 8. Am I correct in saying that companies delivering workshops in schools will have access to the teacher and student resources? Yes anyone can access the teacher portal, even parents interested in it for their own kids! You just need to create a free Lego account to access 9. What proportion of the resources are AI focused? One out of the five modules is AI, therefore six out of the thirty lessons are focused on it 10. What detail is the pose recognition? Does it recognise individual hands, or even fingers for example? AI camera pose recognition can pick up joint movements from shoulders and elbows. The 11+ lessons also use angles, distance from device and movement of specific parts.
