On a 45,000 km trip through South America, there are places you plan and places you just happen to stumble upon. Carelmapu wasn't on any of my maps. I arrived there through a volunteer opportunity I found almost by accident in a Facebook group, during one of the most difficult moments of the trip. What I found there changed everything.
