Nothing remains but buildings and waves And a street whose day is chaos and turmoil And a factory where the more smoke it emits The thicker and higher it rises, the more production increases No more room for grass and flowers And no one needs roses anymore Where are the birds that built their kingdom of straw? The straw looks like a crown And where is the sound of the flowing river? It used to soothe troubled souls And where is my sea and my fish that fled From the oil-stained waves? I am the branches that offered you fruit And shaded you while the sun shone brightly I am the lake, I have ducks and pelicans And I have storks and doves, all clamoring I am winter, and the grass of the earth is from my rain And from it come the flowers I am nature, I gave you beauty So that you might have a straight path in life But you did not heed it My sanctity is a veil Upon consciences and eyes is a barrier You seek nothing but what you desire For gold is from me, and from me are diamonds and ivory The air is polluted and the trees have been cut down And you feel no shame from the tragedy Even the heat is trapped by your gases Is there any release for it from the atmosphere? The strongest thinks that if intentions do not align, there will be no escape from my demise.
