Piccup Pram June 2022
I took a nice sail on my Michalak Piccup Pram after work on the Ashley River in Charleston, South Carolina. The forecast was for 10-15 knots of breeze gusting to 20. It seemed a little subdued when I headed out so I figured I didn’t need a reef. On my upwind and upcurrent leg, it was a little hairy and I did need that reef. I rarely trimmed the sail to catch all of the breeze but didn’t want to stop and reef as the current was really moving. The wind finally calmed slightly around sunset. I had a couple of mellow downwind and downcurrent tacks back to the ramp. What a great boat!
